The New Normal
Our use of solar & wind energy is made possible through technology. It wasn't that long ago that farmers utilized windmills to pump water, water wheels to generate electricity & positioned there houses & windows to take full advantage of the seasonal sun. Somehow our world forgot to bring that approach forward until now. It would seem we have woken up in the 21St century & applied current technology to what was literally staring us in the face. It's natures gift. This is further underscored by last years gulf oil spill in Louisiana.
Sun-Wind Solutions offers product information, equipment sales, service & installation. In addition we seek to educate & illustrate the simplicity of these systems such that we can all understand it. It's our common sense approach in this century. Its not just all about the sale. If you have a question call us & ask.

"Finding your reasons for solar & wind"
The idea of renewable energy is now something that’s embedded in the psyche of our culture. It’s only recently that we as a country have become acutely aware, that it’s “real” & serious. In the summer of 2008 our country reached its threshold of pain when gas & oil prices hit 4 plus dollars a gallon. It was the alarm clock for our nation. It may have been that event alone that made it personal and asisted in our economic calamity. Disequilibrium is often the catalyst for change. Not always fun but a must do nonetheless. We are now flirting w/ the same price points as was so surprising in 2008. What we are experiencing is that "tipping point" that will be the refered to historically as the "age of oil". It does NOT have to be a calamity. If we embrace all that is available to us we can ease off our hyper dependance to fosil fuels.
We now have solar panels, solar hot water heaters & wind generators springing up on the roofs & properties all over Ct. We have a large wind generator in New Haven in plain sight from I 95.We have products that light our highways w/ micro solar wind generators using the wind from traffic & the daily sun. All of this underscores our desire to make a difference. The ranks of those who view this movement as “tree hugging” are diminishing & most likely are a minority. For those that are the minority. They need to lead ,follow or get out of the way.
An individual’s motivation for embracing this technology can be for a number of reasons.
1. From a political standpoint, the need to stop spending billions on foreign oil will make our country safer & in the long run more stable. Fifty percent of the U.S. trade deficite is from our importation of foreign oil. If changed we will be less affected by & feel fewer ripple effects from global discord. Money invested here on renewable power will reap repeated dividends, electric bill after electric bill month after month. If we all make a personal commitment and really walk the walk, it works. It drops control squarely in our lap. We as a society must take a longer viewpoint to our countries needs.
2. Some would prefer to make it about a carbon footprint reduction. Another huge plus. If we use less electric produced by coal, the cleaner our air. This affects our overall health, another good win.
3. Less in the lime light would be "profit" incentive. To “net meter “your electric service & actually have free electric & sell,,,yes sell power back to the power company. CL& P will once a year write a check to an individual if they have accrued enough energy credits by producing more than they use. This ocurres in late March. If industries employ solar & wind it will bring the control over their bottom line right to their roof.
4. Our government is facilitating this with a 30% tax credit on the purchase and installation of renewable energy equipment. Along w/ many state incentives the cost of equipment and installation can be cut 50% and in some cases 70%.
It wasn’t that long ago that farmers utilized windmills to pump water, water wheels to produce electricity & positioned their houses & windows to take full advantage of the seasonal sun. Somehow our world forgot to bring that approach forward. It seems we have woken up in the 21st century & applied current technology to what was literally staring us in the face. It is nature’s gift. Let’s use it.
